Senior Road Engineer

Position: Senior Engineer – Roads

Location: Belfast Office, Northern Ireland

Seeking a senior engineer with extensive postgraduate experience in the design and project management of road and active travel schemes, to lead and grow a team in our Roads team.

• Project management and provision of engineering expertise for multi‑disciplinary infrastructure schemes.
• Lead and attend design review and progress meetings with clients.
• Line management and mentoring of junior staff.
• Technical input and design on roads, public transport and active travel projects, including alignment design, BIM integration, and application of relevant standards (DMRB, TII, NTA).
• Prepare and supervise NEC and Public Works contracts, tender documents, budgeting and cost estimating.
• Prepare and supervise project lifecycle reports and technical checking and design reviews.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental legislation and in‑house quality assurance processes.

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Incorporated or Chartered status (AMIEI/MIEI or equivalent).
• Demonstrated project management skills and technical competence in highway engineering, road schemes or public transport/active travel schemes.
• Experience in multi‑disciplinary liaison and coordination.
• Track record of client and stakeholder relationship management.
• Experience in contract preparation or administration using Public Works contracts.
• Ability to mentor junior team members.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Senior role in ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
