Job DescriptionThe Client Design Authority undertakes a vital role in ensuring that key defence infrastructure that interfaces is safe and fit for purpose.
ResponsibilitiesThe Technical Author will support the technical capability of the Design Authority (DA). This role is suited to Technical Authors with experience in an Engineering Discipline and will involve:
- Authoring and reviewing technical documents, drawings, schematics, and design documentation.
- Interpreting engineering technical data and ensuring consistency across documentation.
- Managing version control and configuration management processes.
- Applying technical documentation standards and structured authoring principles.
- Experience in technical authoring within an engineering, defence or industrial environment.
- Experience working within the nuclear industry or another high-hazard industry is advantageous.
- Ability to interpret engineering technical data, drawings, schematics, and design documentation.
- Excellent written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with document management systems, version control and configuration management processes.
- Knowledge of technical documentation standards and structured authoring principles.
- HNC (or equivalent qualification/experience) in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Degree (or equivalent qualification/experience) in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Professional status such as Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or equivalent industry standing.
Requires sole UK national with SC clearance.
Mainly remote working with 1–2 days per month on site at Faslane.
