Join the visionary team at Planet as a Satellite Systems Engineer, specializing in the design and development of state-of-the-art satellite systems. This role combines remote work flexibility with significant involvement in groundbreaking satellite projects.
As part of a dynamic team, you will be responsible for various satellite subsystems. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering and at least five years of experience working on satellite systems. Your hands-on experience in vehicle testing and customer interactions will enhance project outcomes and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
• Contribute to satellite systems design and integration efforts
• Engage in customer briefings and present designs
• Lead requirements formulation, validation, and verification
• Conduct both functional and environmental tests on systems
• Support constellation design using advanced simulation tools
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline
• Minimum of 5 years in satellite system design
• Customer-facing experience and design review participation
• Knowledge of NASA GEVS and small satellite standards
• Understanding of the space environment design best practices
