  • Identifying and managing design risks, issues and Request for Information (RFIs).
  • Ensuring all deliverables and milestones are achieved to cost/quality/time targets.
  • Acting as a role model for more junior staff within the Airfield Engineering team, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
  • Championing excellent health and safety practice, including safety in design, site visit safety and compliance with CDM regulations.
  • Supporting Project Managers by undertaking project progress monitoring and contributing to the development of appropriate project controls, including change management, information management and document control.
  • Responding to client directions in a professional and customer-focused manner and developing and maintaining relationships with clients, peers and others who are influential in providing future business.
Qualifications
  • A university degree relevant to civil engineering, construction, design or related discipline.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Status (MICE, MCIHT or equivalent) or equivalent demonstrable experience is preferable but not essential.
  • Experience of delivering large, technically complex multi-disciplinary airfield civil engineering projects.
  • Experience and knowledge of international airfield design standards such as ICAO, CAA, EASA and FAA.
  • Knowledge and experience of using Civil 3D and relevant other airfield engineering design software packages such as Avi Plan, Sky Safe and FAARFIELD is preferable but not essential.
  • Knowledge and understanding of construction contracts (i.e. NEC) and processes is preferable but not essential.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills with an aptitude for presenting technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Enjoy working in a team environment, sharing ideas and collaborating with colleagues and can demonstrate a time when you have managed to do this successfully to solve complex problems.
  • Are competent in working independently on technical engineering projects and confident in making technical engineering decisions for projects which you are responsible for delivering.
