Lead Process Engineer - Minerals and Metals
Responsibilities
- Lead process engineering teams to deliver complete process engineering work packages on complex projects.
- Lead process design during studies, basic and detailed engineering project phases.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance for process design work including calculations, drawings and test work interpretations.
- Budget and resource forecast management for the process study scope.
- Interface with other engineering disciplines to deliver best practice process design.
- Liaise and contribute to the Global Ausenco Process Team.
- Stay abreast of latest process technology developments.
- Introduce design innovation and lean thinking into process designs.
- Represent Ausenco’s corporate image through marketing and conferences.
- Demonstrate leadership in industry safety protocols.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mineral Processing, Extractive Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Licensed P.Eng. or eligible to be licensed in Ontario.
- Minimum of 12 years’ experience in mineral concentrator and/or hydrometallurgical plant design in study delivery, including scoping, pre‑feasibility, feasibility, trade‑offs, basic and detail engineering. Experience with gold, silver, copper, base metals and battery metals (nickel, lithium, cobalt) processing preferred.
- Proven field experience (construction, commissioning and/or operations) is a benefit.
- Experience in a consulting engineering capacity.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities including project management, lead design role capability and supervisory skills.
- Excellent communication skills with well‑developed written and oral abilities.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate technical issues with clients.
- Team‑player with initiative and ingenuity in providing engineering solutions.
- Capability to translate field and engineering experience to other process staff and design activities.
- Alignment with Ausenco’s corporate culture and client business cultures.
Salary range: $160,000 – $200,000 annually.
Expected salary varies based on qualifications, relevant experience and market conditions for the role.
