Job Purpose

Lead Interface Engineer is responsible for overall interface activities in the FEED/EPC phase at home office and execution of the Project Interface activities  role holder acts as a principal point of contact liaising with all internal and external stakeholders for technical inputs and ensuring coordination among multiple parties/project packages during the Project design and execution phase.

Key Accountabilities
  • Lead Interface Engineer is responsible for engineering coordination and execution of assigned interface requirements through close interaction with internal and external parties, stakeholders, end users and contractors. Identify, develop, coordinate, expedite and steward all Project interfaces until closure.
  • Coordinate and establish regular interface meetings between contractor and company.
  • Lead discussions and frequent coordination with Operations, Material Handling Operations and Turn Around Team for the execution of interface activities.
  • Provide regular updates on project interfaces to Process/Commissioning Manager and provide monthly and weekly progress reports, proactively identifying interface issues.
  • Coordinate and participate in various project related interface meetings and activities, and ensure timely completion of battery limit tie‑ins and scope‑related tie‑ins.
  • Technical Integration – Focal point responsible for identifying, defining and executing the technical/physical internal and external interfaces through FEED/EPC phase by establishing interface point registers.
  • Monitor and control the IP databases, manage IPs and IQs initiation, correspondence and agreements to align with the agreed interdependency schedule between FEED/EPC contractor and stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in reviewing the project scope of work, implementing strategies, execution plans and construction strategies.
  • Design Alignment – Overall responsibility for interface deliverables, including establishing and executing interconnections with existing facilities.
  • Ensure that the HAZOP of battery limit (interface point) is carried out as per project requirements.
  • Organize interface meetings with internal and external parties to finalize the interface point register for multiple disciplines in a timely manner.
  • Site Coordination – Work closely with FEED/EPC contractor interface team and stakeholders.
  • Follow up on required interface documentation, provide feedback to Process/Commissioning Manager, highlight shortfalls and seek support to avoid schedule delays.
  • Act as focal point for identifying key interfaces between the project and existing facilities (brownfield works) with particular focus on interface/tie‑ins during shutdown activities.
  • Maintain the database and review all pre‑commissioning and commissioning procedures of the various systems.
  • Performance – Ensure pre‑commissioning and commissioning procedures are prepared on time and reviewed by the company on time.
  • Maintain interface engineering documents review plan and assess performance at mid‑term and final reviews, feeding back outcomes and improvement areas.
  • Engineering Change Management – Review interface discipline specific concession requests, validate request basis and impact on technical integrity before endorsement from Process/Commissioning Manager.
  • Monitor and ensure interface discipline specific design change management is carried out with proper multidisciplinary impact assessment and control.
  • General – Maintain regular meetings with interface discipline counterpart for timely coordination and problem resolution.
  • Communicate discipline‑specific updates and concerns to Process/Commissioning Manager.
  • Address technical conflicts and disputes with counterpart (contractor) professionally and systematically.
  • Operational Plans – Oversee and lead interface execution and outcomes, continuously monitor pre‑commissioning/commissioning schedules, develop procedures and ensure proper status cascade to Process/Commissioning Manager, avoiding slippage.
