Project Geologist

SLR is a global leader in sustainability solutions. We are seeking a Project Engineering Geologist to join our Land Quality team in Edinburgh or Glasgow.

• Support and manage the delivery of geo‑environmental projects from initial assessment through to reporting.
• Manage and supervise all aspects of geo‑environmental fieldwork.
• Undertake desk‑based studies and preliminary risk assessments.
• Plan and coordinate site investigations and laboratory testing programmes.
• Develop and implement health and safety plans for site works.
• Manage and supervise ground investigation activities.
• Log soil and rock samples to industry standards.
• Coordinate laboratory testing and analysis.
• Collate, manipulate and assess environmental and geological data.
• Prepare technical reports and provide clear, practical advice to clients.
• Support project delivery across built environment, industry, infrastructure and energy sectors.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams across Land Quality, Geotechnics, Environmental, Earth Sciences, Planning and Engineering.

• Experience in geo‑environmental site investigations and reporting.
• Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geoscience, Earth Sciences or related discipline.
• Experience managing fieldwork and coordinating site investigation contractors.
• Knowledge of contaminated land and geo‑environmental assessment practices.
• Strong data analysis, interpretation and technical reporting skills.
• Understanding of relevant health and safety requirements for site‑based work.
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Proactive approach with commitment to high‑quality project outcomes.
• Driving licence that permits legal driving in the UK.
