Do you like to work in a team environment to solve challenging structural problems? We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Engineer to be part of our Structural Engineering practice. The successful candidate will support a variety of projects within the Industrial, Electrical Utility, Water and Waste Water, Material Handling and Heavy Civil structures side of the practice while gaining hands-on experience and mentorship from experienced professionals.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be a natural problem solver, have strong attention to detail, and be eager to learn and contribute to a collaborative team environment. Familiarity with industry standard software such as ETABS, SAP 2000, S-Frame, Lusas and Revit would be considered an asset.
Your
Key Responsibilities:
* Support structural engineering design tasks under the guidance of experienced engineers;
* Assist with design calculations, analysis, drawings, reports, and technical documentation;
* Contribute to the preparation of technical specifications and construction documents;
* Coordinate with engineers, technologists, and other project team members to support project delivery;
* Participate in site visits, field reviews, meetings, and data collection as required;
* Assist with construction contract administration tasks under supervision;
* Review and apply applicable codes, standards, and project requirements;
* Develop technical skills through mentorship, training, and hands-on project experience; and
* Communicate effectively with internal project teams, clients, and contractors.
Your Capabilities and Credentials:
* Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering.
* Previous co-op, internship, or related experience in structural engineering or consulting would be considered an asset.
* Registered or eligible to register as an Engineer with APEGNB.
* An interest in structural design for industrial, electrical utility, water and wastewater, material handling, heavy civil, and building projects.
* Familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD.
* Detail oriented, organized, hardworking, with a team player attitude.
* Ability to balance professional commitments to meet project deadlines.
* Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
* Valid driver’s license and be able to travel to job sites within Atlantic Canada.
