Role Description   The Mechanical Engineer will contribute to building services and related projects by designing mechanical systems, performing calculations, and preparing detailed drawings and specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with structural, electrical, and civil teams; reviewing project requirements; developing mechanical layouts; and using CAD tools to produce accurate designs. The role also involves participating in project meetings, coordinating with clients and external partners, and supporting project management tasks such as scheduling, documentation, and quality control.

The Mechanical Engineer will assist with research and development activities to improve design standards, optimize system performance, and integrate new technologies. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Barrie, ON, where regular on-site work is required, but some work-from-home flexibility is available.
Qualifications     Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering with experience in building services or related mechanical systems.
Proficiency in Machine Design and application of engineering principles to practical, safe, and efficient mechanical solutions.
Hands‑on experience with Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) software for creating detailed mechanical drawings and models.
Ability to support Project Management activities, including coordination, scheduling, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
Experience or interest in Research and Development (R&D) to enhance design approaches and integrate innovative technologies.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline; eligibility for P.Eng. designation in Ontario is an asset.
Knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and industry best practices for mechanical systems in commercial and residential projects.
Effective communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and in multidisciplinary teams.

Experience with Canadian consulting engineering environments or similar professional settings is considered beneficial.
