Job Description Summary

Lead Secondary Engineer is the technical guarantor of the proper performance of design works conducted in the field of activity, within committed design budget, deadline and quality, in line with customer expectation, while promoting ease of installation, operation and maintenance of the system.

Rules and Responsibilities
  • Ensure design reliability, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards, protection standards, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and support project documentation.
  • Lead and support the team in designing the control system, protection system, electrical distribution, telecom and monitoring of a high voltage substation.
  • Deliver single line diagrams, schematic diagrams, protection system designs, electrical consumption calculations and designs of auxiliary services, interlocking, communication and network.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in a project and EPC type environment in high‑voltage substations.
  • Minimum 7 years of engineering experience in the energy sector, including oil and gas.
  • Up to 20% travel within MEA and Europe, as well as other countries/regions for short or medium periods.
  • Strong verbal and written English and Turkish skills.
  • Ability to live in Ankara.

  • Knowledge of project organization and engineering processes related to scope of activity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and convey complex technical information to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide technical support to customers and project teams.
  • Initiate and support the procurement of equipment.
  • Compliance with quality processes, procedures, and GE policies.
  • Experience in technical problem‑solving.
  • Proficiency in design reviews and gate reviews, with formal plans to ensure integration into overall substation design.
  • Ability to formulate mitigation plans and track action status (not started, ongoing, closed).
  • Preparation of provisional document lists aligned with project timelines.
  • Development of schedules with achievable task durations.
  • Follow full set of KPIs on a monthly basis.
  • Strict adherence to design management tools and coherent data submission.
  • Implementation of design change processes.
  • Management of engineering subcontractors on specific work packages.
  • Oversight of commissioning and testing of low voltage systems.
