At Balfour Beatty, we're delivering some of the UK's most technically complex and nationally significant infrastructure projects. We're looking for a Senior Engineer to join our team on our prestigious Rolls‑Royce project in Derby, where you'll play a key role in delivering world‑class facilities that will support the future of advanced engineering and manufacturing.

What you'll be doing
  • Leading and managing engineering activities across the project lifecycle.
  • Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements.
  • Managing temporary works, construction methodologies and technical approvals.
  • Reviewing and coordinating design information, identifying opportunities to improve buildability and efficiency.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to site teams and subcontractors.
  • Managing site engineers and supporting their professional development.
  • Overseeing quality assurance processes, inspections and testing to ensure compliance.
  • Ensuring accurate setting out, surveying and record keeping.
  • Monitoring programme progress and identifying engineering solutions to maintain delivery.
Who we're looking for
  • Experience as a Senior Engineer or an established Site Engineer ready to take the next step.
  • A degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience working on major construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of engineering standards, specifications and construction techniques.
  • Experience managing temporary works and coordinating technical design information.
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple engineering activities.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • CSCS card (appropriate level).
  • SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable).
