Senior Electrical Designer​/Technologist

Role Description

Reporting to the Senior Engineer, the Senior Electrical Designer/Technologist will be responsible for preparing electrical designs and construction drawings for a variety of building projects. The role is hands-on and production-focused, with an emphasis on power, lighting, and fire alarm system design using AutoCAD and related design tools.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality designs while supporting projects through design, permitting, and construction.

Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing electrical construction drawings and design documentation.

Designing power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems.

Producing construction-ready drawing packages and specifications.

Coordinating designs with architectural, mechanical, and structural teams.

Supporting project delivery from concept through construction.

Participating in site visits and field reviews as required.

Assisting with technical problem-solving and construction administration activities.

Ensuring designs comply with applicable codes and standards.

Your Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a strong electrical design professional with extensive building-services experience and excellent drafting capabilities.

Your qualifications include:

Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related discipline.

8+ years of electrical building design experience.

Experience designing power, lighting, and fire alarm systems for buildings.

Strong proficiency with AutoCAD;
Revit experience is an asset.

Experience producing construction drawings and technical documentation.

Working knowledge of applicable Canadian codes and standards.

Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
