Senior Civil Engineer – Sheffield

We are looking for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our multidisciplinary consultancy in Sheffield. The role offers a predominantly remote working arrangement with only one day per week required at our central Sheffield office. It provides exposure to a varied, technically challenging portfolio of residential development projects, the support of an experienced team, and clear progression opportunities.

• Design and deliver residential development infrastructure projects, from initial feasibility through detailed design and construction support.
• Oversee highways, drainage, earthworks and external works packages.
• Prepare and review technical reports, and liaise with clients, local authorities and statutory consultees.
• Support the wider team with project coordination and technical guidance.
• Take ownership of projects while maintaining high technical standards and commercial awareness.

• Strong understanding of residential development infrastructure.
• Minimum 3–5 years of residential infrastructure design experience.
• Proficient with industry‑standard software including Civil 3D, Site 3D, Flow or Micro Drainage.
• Experience producing highway and drainage designs and managing the technical approval process.
• Familiarity with Section 104, Section 38 and Section 278 agreements.
• Experience preparing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies is advantageous but not essential.
