Job Overview

Salary:
Up to £52,500 depending on experience
Location:
Stevenage (relocation package may be available)
Dynamic (hybrid) working:
Typically 3 days per week on site with a blended approach to on‑site and remote working.
Security:
Requires British citizenship or a Dual UK national with British citizenship; a HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard check (BPSS) will be carried out after offer.

As a Technical Lead, you will lead a team of engineers in one of two domains: Power Electronics (design and control of motors that manoeuvre fins) or Firing Units (Safety and Arming functionality, Control panels, Command and Control sub‑systems across Land, Sea and Air).
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading activities from early feasibility and technology assessments through to detailed design, qualification, certification and transition to production.
- Ensuring products meet quality, cost and schedule targets by working closely with stakeholders in multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Managing budgets, planning, control and delivery of assigned projects or work packages.
- Motivating and developing a small to medium sized engineering team.
- Navigating products through qualification and certification phases.
- Degree qualified with significant post‑qualification experience in Electronic Design, Qualification and Certification.
- Experience and interest in electronic sub‑system development.
- Effective leadership of a small to medium team.
- Knowledge of developing a product from technical requirements to production.
- Understanding of the product lifecycle and product configuration.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver technical product definition.
