Working Pattern:
Flexible hybrid – split between office, client sites, and working from home

Frazer‑Nash provides aviation certification and safety assurance services to the UK Military Defence sector. The consultant will support the development and delivery of propulsion assurance and certification services, working with a multi‑discipline team of aerospace engineers across fixed‑wing, rotary‑wing, crewed and uncrewed air systems. The role aims to support our clients in achieving UK airworthiness and continued airworthiness of aircraft propulsion systems within a military aviation environment.
Responsibilities- Lead technical delivery within programmes related to propulsion assessment and certification
- Support development and delivery of initial platform type certification and type airworthiness, continuing airworthiness, and technical delivery of projects
- Represent Frazer‑Nash at Integrity Working Groups (e.g., Engine or Propulsion SIWG)
- Provide engineering expertise across multiple aviation disciplines, including gas turbine engines, fuel systems and propulsion integration
- Engage with UK Military Aviation Authority (MAA) Regulatory Framework to ensure compliance with safety and certification requirements
- Proven experience as a Propulsion Engineer SME within an aviation environment
- Strong understanding of gas turbine engines, fuel systems and propulsion integration
- Experience in participating in Integrity Working Groups (e.g., Engine or Propulsion SIWG)
- Knowledge of engine certification and airworthiness processes
- Practitioner in initial or continuing airworthiness activities
- Qualified to Chartered Engineer level or working towards it
- Demonstrable technical experience in a Systems Engineering environment within the aerospace industry, including certification requirements and compliance, requirements management, safety and assurance, test and acceptance
- Strong customer‑focused attitude and understanding of air safety aspects of an air systems life cycle
- Experience working within a Delivery Team or Defence Equipment & Support Frontline Engineering context is desirable
- Experience as an engineering consultant is desirable
- First degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Experience on a squadron or similar defence mobile service
- Current or previous experience as an engineering consultant
- Outstanding problem‑solving and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced environment
- Qualified to Chartered Engineer level or working towards it
