Principal Civil Engineer / Discipline Head

Manchester - Hybrid

Permanent: £65,000-£80,000 DOE or

Contract:

£450-£550/day (Outside IR35)

• Lead civil engineering design across clean and wastewater projects.
• Provide technical leadership and design assurance.
• Review and approve calculations, reports and engineering deliverables.
• Mentor and develop engineers, graduates and technicians.
• Drive engineering standards, quality and continuous improvement.
• Support bids, resource planning and framework delivery.

• 10+ years’ design experience within the regulated UK water sector.
• Strong experience across water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Expertise in hydraulic calculations and detailed design.
• Previous experience leading engineering teams or acting as a technical authority.
• A passion for mentoring others and delivering engineering excellence.

• UMON 3 & 4 sewage treatment upgrades.
• Clean water main replacement schemes.
• CSO upgrades and storm storage projects.
• Long‑term framework projects for major UK water companies.

• £65,000‑£80,000 salary (DOE) or £450‑£550/day Outside IR35.
