Role Description The Project Engineer is a full-time hybrid role based in Jurong East, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing electrical infrastructure projects from design through commissioning, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing project plans, reviewing engineering drawings, preparing technical documentation, and supporting procurement and vendor coordination.
The Project Engineer will monitor project progress, manage risks and issues, and collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and clients to ensure successful delivery. The role also includes site visits, participation in technical meetings, and continuous improvement of project processes and engineering practices.
Job Description
o support the delivery of Extra High Voltage (EHV) power transmission projects through engineering coordination, site supervision, testing and commissioning, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time and in accordance with client requirements and applicable standards.
The role will undergo approximately 1–2 years of project exposure and development in Singapore, with potential longer-term deployment to Malaysia based on business and project requirements.
Core Responsibilities
- Support design reviews, installation, testing and commissioning of EHV/HV substations and transmission systems.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal project teams.
- Ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE standards, client specifications and project requirements.
- Assist the Project Manager in project schedules, material approvals, documentation and site coordination.
- Supervise site works including cable termination, SF₆ handling, HV testing and system energisation.
- Prepare and review technical documents, test reports, checklists and as-built drawings.
- Ensure compliance with safety, QA/QC and risk management requirements.
- Support regional projects and deployment where required.
Job Specifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Specialist Diploma in Construction Productivity (SDCP) is an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of power transmission and distribution systems.
- Experience in EHV/HV substation installation, testing or commissioning is preferred.
- Exposure to high-voltage testing, GIS, transformers, protection systems and SF₆ handling is advantageous.
- Proactive, quick learner and willing to work in site-based environments.
- Willing to undergo 1–2 years of training/project exposure in Singapore and subsequent deployment to Malaysia.
- Proficiency in English and Chinese, both written and spoken, to communicate with relevant stakeholders and partners.
