We're now helping to deliver the groundbreaking Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project, a first-of-its-kind gas-fired power station with integrated carbon capture and storage technology that will play a vital role in creating the UK's first decarbonised industrial cluster.

We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team and support the successful delivery of this nationally significant project.

Locations:
Flexible for the right candidate – you can work from our offices in
Leeds, Newcastle, or the Net Zero Teesside project site near Redcar
Flexible Working: Typically 3 days on site and 2 days remote

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll take ownership of key project areas, leading commercial activities and helping to drive successful project outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the commercial management of project packages, managing costs, value and financial performance.
  • Preparing and reviewing tender documentation, estimates, forecasts and cost reports.
  • Managing subcontract procurement, commercial negotiations and contract administration.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and supply chain partners.
  • Managing variations, compensation events and commercial change processes.
  • Supporting procurement strategies and constructability reviews.
  • Producing accurate commercial reports, forecasts and financial reconciliations.
  • Mentoring and developing Assistant, Graduate and Trainee Quantity Surveyors.
  • Ensuring compliance with governance requirements while embracing LEAN and digital ways of working.
Who we're looking for

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong commercial background gained within construction, infrastructure, civil engineering or major projects.

Essential:

  • BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
  • Chartered status, or working towards chartership, with RICS, ICES or CIOB.
  • Valid CSCS card.
  • Experience managing commercial activities on major projects.
  • Strong knowledge of contract administration and commercial management.
  • Experience with Cost Reimbursable Contracts, ideally NEC4 Option

    E.
  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance (SC).
  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience on large-scale infrastructure, energy or civil engineering projects.
  • Experience leading or mentoring junior commercial professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial management systems and reporting tools.
