This is more than a technical role.

You'll be the subject matter expert behind the frameworks, standards and strategies that help public sector organisations tackle some of the UK's biggest built environment challenges. From shaping innovative procurement solutions to advising on funding opportunities and emerging legislation, you'll play a key role in influencing how sustainable buildings are delivered nationwide.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll lead the development and evolution of our energy efficiency and retrofit frameworks, ensuring they remain innovative, compliant and aligned with market needs

You’ll also:

  • Provide strategic technical leadership on retrofit, decarbonisation and Net Zero initiatives
  • Act as a trusted advisor to colleagues, clients and suppliers on energy performance and sustainability solutions
  • Monitor and interpret government funding opportunities, helping organisations maximise investment in retrofit and decarbonisation programmes
  • Represent LHC Procurement Group at industry events, conferences and working groups, strengthening our reputation as a leading voice in the sector
  • Support the development of technical specifications, performance standards and procurement criteria that deliver measurable outcomes for public sector clients

About you

You're an experienced built environment professional with a strong track record in energy efficiency, retrofit or sustainability‑led improvement programmes.

You’ll bring:

  • Deep technical knowledge of building energy performance and carbon reduction
  • Practical understanding of retrofit delivery, construction projects and stakeholder management
  • PAS 2035/2038 qualifications and experience with a technical qualification related to energy efficiency and sustainability
  • The confidence and credibility to influence senior stakeholders and represent an organisation externally
  • A passion for innovation and helping shape the future of sustainable procurement and building improvement
