Salary Range: The full pay range for this role is $107,200 to $178,600 annually, and the good faith estimated starting pay for this position upon hire is $128,00 to $150,00 annually. We generally base our salary decisions on factors including but not limited to, relevant work and leadership experience, education, demonstrated performance, internal equity, and in some cases, geographic location.

Scope of Job:

The Sr. Design Engineer is responsible for creating, reviewing, and managing engineering deliverables as assigned by the Sr. Director Engineering or Project Managers. Duties include both day-to-day tasks as assigned and longer term, broader scope responsibilities associated with specific projects. As part of the Engineering team, the Sr. Design Engineer will support projects throughout the project life cycle; project development and conceptual design, project design for construction, project documentation following construction, and operations and maintenance.

The Sr. Design Engineer is responsible to consistently follow work practices and conventions established within the Engineering team, as well as to engage in refining and documenting design/engineering processes, best practices, code compliance, and product/system application details. The Sr. Design Engineer must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in communicating complex technical topics with non-technical audiences. The Sr.

Design Engineer will be responsible for clear communications and effective interactions both internally within the Company and with Company consultants, contractors, clients, and partners.

• Prepare engineering deliverables, including plan and elevation drawings, schematics, calculations, POs, and schedules in support of PV (photovoltaic) energy generation system design, for commercial and utility projects in the 500 kW to 20 MW scale. Review and revise engineering deliverables prepared by others. Develop designs in consideration of company safety program and OSHA safety requirements for construction and system operation.
• Conduct site assessments, prepare energy models and conceptual design deliverables in support of business development and new product/vendor integration.
• Communications with Project Managers, who coordinate scheduling and permitting for project execution.
• Create, organize, and maintain documents associated with projects’ basis of design throughout the project life cycle; assist the business development team in identifying key project design risks and enabling effective decisions.
