Our client, a global leader in sustainability solutions, is currently seeking an experienced Associate Director Transport Planning professional to join their well-regarded Transport & Mobility Planning team based in London. This permanent role focuses on leading high-profile transport planning and development planning projects within the highways sector. The position offers a significant opportunity for professional growth in a collaborative, people-first culture.
Key Responsibilities- Leading transport planning projects, from site promotion to planning submission and post-consent support
- Managing complex transport planning tasks including Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and Delivery & Servicing Plans
- Client management, securing work, negotiating fee proposals, and maintaining strong client relationships
- Team leadership and mentoring, supporting junior and senior colleagues to develop technical and commercial skills
- Executing technical delivery using modelling packages and appraisal techniques to support planning applications and development strategies
- Collaborating across disciplines with planning, engineering, environmental, and design teams to provide integrated solutions
- Identifying business development opportunities to expand transport planning services and contribute to strategic growth
- Significant experience in transport planning with a strong understanding of planning and transport policy
- Proficiency in preparing Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, and related documents
- Knowledge of priority junction modelling (Junctions 11) and experience with LINSIG
- Understanding of micro-simulation and strategic modelling principles
- Familiarity with design standards (DMRB, MfS) and their application
- Experience in developing access, parking, and sustainable transport strategies
- Ability to prepare fee proposals and secure independent work
- Knowledge of S106, S278, and Traffic Regulation Orders
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage complex workloads
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Capability to work independently and effectively use initiative
