Their specialist solutions include conveyor systems, automated material handling equipment, robotics, and warehouse automation projects.
Unlike traditional manufacturers, they offer a complete end-to-end service — from initial design and engineering through to manufacture, installation and aftersales support.
The business currently employs around 150 members of staff across two UK sites and has experienced significant growth, increasing turnover from £12 million in 2018 to over £54 million today, with further growth expected.
With a strong order book secured well into 2026 and continued investment into improving internal processes, they are now looking for a Technical Author / Document Controller to take ownership of documentation standards across the business.
The Role:As a Technical Author / Document Controller, you will become the central point of contact for all project documentation, working closely with engineering, project management and customer teams to ensure technical information is accurate, controlled and delivered to the required standard.
This is a newly created position where you will have the opportunity to build and improve documentation processes across the business, introducing structure, consistency and modern tools such as AI-assisted document creation and automation.
Your responsibilities will include:- Creating, formatting, reviewing and proofreading technical documentation including FDS, O&M manuals, commissioning documents, engineering reports and compliance records
- Managing document control processes including version control, revision history, approvals and document registers
- Working with engineers to gather technical information and translate complex engineering input into clear customer-facing documentation
- Developing reusable templates and improving documentation standards across projects
- Maintaining a controlled library of technical documents and ensuring full traceability
- Liaising with engineering and project teams to chase outstanding information and ensure deadlines are met
- Ensuring documentation meets customer requirements, internal standards and industry expectations
- Using AI and automation tools to improve document creation, quality checking and efficiency
- Supporting continuous improvement of the company’s documentation processes
- Previous experience within a document control, technical authoring or engineering documentation role
