Position: Signalling Functional Tester – 3BI
Location: Greater London

UK-wide (site-based, flexible working options available)

Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced Functional Tester to join their growing Signalling Testing & Commissioning team
. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering some of the UK’s most high-profile rail infrastructure projects – in a collaborative, inclusive, and forward-thinking environment.

What You’ll Do:
  • Carry out functional testing of signalling systems, including CBI and relay-based interlockings.

  • Test 4-foot trackside equipment to ensure compliance and performance.

  • Support the Tester in Charge with planning, resource management, and reporting.

  • Guide and mentor junior team members to support their technical progression.

  • Ensure all testing activities meet industry and safety standards.

  • Travel to project sites as required – some overnight stays and unsocial hours may be necessary.

What We’re Looking For:
  • IRSE Licence (Functional Tester 1.3.170) – current or held within the last 5 years

  • Network Rail Certificate of Competence (CofC) – current or held within the last 5 years

  • 3BI Competence – essential

  • Demonstrable experience in railway signalling functional testing
    , including interlocking systems

  • Solid knowledge of Network Rail Signal Works Testing Handbook and NWR standards

  • NWR 3B/4 testing competency and/or equipment-specific expertise

  • Strong organisational and communication skills

  • Full UK Driving Licence

  • Willing to undertake COSS duties and contribute to staff development
