We’re looking for a Section Engineer to join our Regional Civils team in the North West
, supporting the delivery of high-quality civil engineering projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to develop their career with a leading infrastructure business, working alongside experienced project and engineering teams.

As a Section Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the technical and operational delivery of your section of works, ensuring activities are planned, coordinated and delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

What you'll be doing

As a Section Engineer you will:

  • Supporting the Site Agent and Project Manager in the successful delivery of your section of works.
  • Managing the engineering and technical aspects of construction activities.
  • Setting out and providing technical guidance to site teams.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical information to ensure works are delivered correctly.
  • Coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, designers and other project stakeholders.
  • Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with the programme, budget and quality requirements.
  • Completing and maintaining inspection and test plans, quality records and other relevant documentation.
  • Identifying technical issues and working collaboratively to develop effective solutions.
Who we're looking for

You will have the following:

  • BSc/HND in Civil Engineering
  • Previous experience working as a Section Engineer or Site Engineer within the civil engineering or construction industry.
  • Experience working on infrastructure, highways, earthworks, structures or other major civil engineering projects.
  • A strong understanding of construction methods, engineering principles and technical requirements.
  • Experience with setting out and surveying.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and delivering high-quality work.
  • A good understanding of health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
