Help Deliver the UK's Next Generation of Water InfrastructureAs investment across the UK water sector continues to grow through AMP8, GHD is looking for an experienced Senior Civil / Structural Revit Technician to join our expanding Water team.
Working alongside Civil and Structural Engineers, you'll play a key role in developing detailed BIM models and technical drawings for major water and wastewater infrastructure projects. We're particularly interested in candidates with experience modelling and detailing reinforced concrete and heavy civil structures, including treatment works, pumping stations, service reservoirs, water-retaining structures, underground chambers and associated infrastructure.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to some of the UK's most important water projects whilst being part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
The RoleAs a Senior Civil / Structural Revit Technician, you'll be responsible for producing, developing and coordinating detailed Revit models and engineering drawings throughout the project lifecycle, from concept design through to detailed design and construction.
You will work closely with Civil and Structural Engineers to deliver high-quality technical outputs for complex water and wastewater projects.
Key Responsibilities- Produce high-quality 3D Civil and Structural Revit models and detailed engineering drawings.
- Develop BIM models for reinforced concrete, steelwork and heavy civil infrastructure.
- Support the design and detailing of water-retaining structures, treatment plant assets, pumping stations, tanks, culverts, chambers and below-ground structures.
- Produce General Arrangement drawings, sections, details, schedules and construction deliverables.
- Coordinate Civil and Structural models with Process, Mechanical, Electrical and Architectural disciplines.
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings, model reviews and clash detection exercises.
- Ensure all deliverables meet project BIM standards, client requirements and quality procedures.
- Work closely with engineers to resolve technical issues and improve constructability.
- Mentor junior technicians and contribute to the development of digital engineering best practice.
We're interested in hearing from candidates who have:
- Strong experience using Autodesk Revit for Civil and Structural engineering projects.
- Experience working within the UK water and wastewater sector.
- A proven background modelling and detailing reinforced concrete structures and heavy civil infrastructure.
- Experience supporting the design of treatment plants, pumping stations, tanks, reservoirs, retaining structures or associated water infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawing production and construction documentation.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering design teams.
- Excellent attention to detail and technical coordination skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Experience working on AMP7 or AMP8 water industry frameworks.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Navisworks, Civil 3D and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Knowledge of water-retaining structure design and detailing requirements.
- Experience supporting projects for clients such as United Utilities, Yorkshire Water, Severn Trent, Thames Water, Southern Water or Northumbrian Water.
- Understanding of BIM Level 2 and ISO 19650 standards.
