Mechanical CAD Engineer

Office Based - Twickenham Area

Up to £45,000 DOE + Excellent Company Package + Career Progression

Are you a Mechanical CAD Engineer or Mechanical Design Technician looking for a permanent role where you can work on exciting commercial building services projects and become a key part of a growing design team?

I'm working with a well-established mechanical building services contractor with a strong pipeline of commercial projects, who is looking to add an experienced Mechanical CAD Engineer to their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of design, takes pride in producing accurate work and wants to build a long-term career with an established and forward-thinking contractor.

You'll be working across a varied portfolio of commercial projects, supporting designs from the early stages right through to construction and completion.

The Role

As a Mechanical CAD Engineer, you'll play an important role in delivering detailed mechanical building services designs across a range of commercial projects.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Producing detailed 2D mechanical layouts using AutoCAD
  • Carrying out heating and cooling load calculations using Hevacomp
  • Completing ductwork and pipework pressure loss calculations
  • Producing accurate technical drawings and design documentation
  • Preparing technical submittals, schedules and supporting documentation
  • Coordinating designs with project and engineering teams
  • Supporting projects through design, coordination and construction
  • Working across commercial projects including CAT A and CAT B fit-outs
  • Ensuring designs are accurate, practical and delivered to the required standards
What We're Looking For
  • Strong AutoCAD 2D experience
  • Good working knowledge of Hevacomp
  • Solid understanding of mechanical building services design
  • Previous experience producing technical drawings and design documentation
  • Experience working on UK commercial building services projects
  • Knowledge of CIBSE guidance and UK Building Regulations
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work closely with project teams
