Our client, a global leader in sustainability solutions, is currently seeking an Associate Highways Engineer to join their well-established Transport Planning and Engineering team in Manchester. This permanent role involves delivering high-profile projects across various sectors, including residential, commercial, energy, infrastructure, and the built environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading the delivery of highways and development-related projects from concept to detailed design
Providing technical leadership and project management for highways and infrastructure projects
Preparing and reviewing General Arrangement Plans and highway designs
Designing and delivering S278/S171 Highway Schemes and S38 Highway Adoption Schemes Developing highway layouts for new developments, including site access junctions, roundabouts, and active travel measures
Managing clients and supporting business development and proposal efforts
Mentoring and coaching junior engineers and technicians
Collaborating with drainage, lighting, infrastructure, and environmental specialists on multidisciplinary projects
Job Requirements:
Substantial experience delivering UK highways and infrastructure projectsA degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Strong track record of managing projects, clients, and multidisciplinary teams
Solid knowledge of UK highway design guidance, standards, and approval processes
Experience designing development-related highway infrastructure, including junctions and access arrangements
Experience preparing highway designs for S278/S171 and S38 schemes
Strong project management, organisational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience mentoring, managing, and developing engineers and technicians
Strong technical problem-solving, reporting, and design capabilities
