Job ProfileUnder the general direction of the Senior Project Engineer, the Wastewater Maintenance Engineer provides professional engineering, operational project management, and administrative services for the Wastewater Services Maintenance Branch, and engineering support of other branches within the Wastewater Services Division.
The Wastewater Maintenance Engineer provides engineering support relating to maintenance activities associated with the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the equipment and facilities required for the City of Winnipeg's Land Drainage, Flood Protection, Sewage Collection, and Wastewater Treatment operations.
The incumbent will provide technical/engineering support to the Supervisors, Maintenance Planners, Senior Technologists, Lead Tradespersons, Forepersons and other staff to maintain and improve the Wastewater systems maintenance and will represent the Division in Departmental projects.
As The Wastewater Maintenance Engineer , Your Will- Provide operational engineering support, analysis, and input related to maintenance improvements and coordinate contract administration for Wastewater Services maintenance operations.
- Manage and lead identified maintenance projects in conformance with aims, goals, policies and objectives of the organization.
- Identify and initiate facility and equipment maintenance improvements through the monitoring, research and analysis of maintenance operations and industry standards and trends.
- Provide leadership, management, and mentorship to ensure effective use of resources.
- Provide other related duties consistent with the position as required.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
- Five years' experience in a field related to the duties of the position.
- Experience in equipment and facility maintenance processes and procedures, including cost management, scheduling, resource management, and risk management.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to be flexible and active in developing innovative methodologies.
- Knowledge of engineering aspects of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems maintenance used in wastewater collection and treatment.
- Knowledge of materials and methods as applied to the design, construction, commissioning, implementation, operation, and maintenance of wastewater services and structures.
