About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Remote Senior Systems Engineer to join their globally distributed engineering team. This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to the design, integration, and optimization of complex engineering systems. You will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation and advancement of our technology platforms, collaborating with teams across different continents.

This role is crucial for supporting and evolving systems critical to operations in regions like Upington .

• Lead the design, development, and integration of complex mechanical and electromechanical systems.
• Conduct in-depth system analysis, including performance, reliability, and failure mode analysis.
• Develop comprehensive system architecture designs, specifications, and interface definitions.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (software, hardware, project management) to ensure successful system integration and deployment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level issues, providing expert guidance and solutions.
• Define and implement system test plans and validation procedures.

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering , Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in systems engineering, with a strong mechanical background.
• Proven experience in system design, integration, and testing of complex engineering solutions.
• Expertise in system modeling and simulation tools.
• Excellent understanding of project management principles and agile development methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully remote environment , supporting diverse operational needs including those in areas like Upington .
