Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled Remote Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in the automotive sector to join their global engineering team. This position focuses on the conceptualization, design, and development of automotive components and systems, leveraging advanced tools and collaborative virtual environments. You will work independently from a remote location, contributing to cutting-edge automotive projects and collaborating with international teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop automotive components and sub-systems, including engine parts, chassis components, or interior systems, using CAD software.
  • Perform structural analysis, thermal analysis, and other simulations to optimize designs for performance, durability, and weight reduction.
  • Create detailed 2D manufacturing drawings, 3D models, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) for automotive production.
  • Collaborate virtually with cross-functional teams, including product development, manufacturing, and testing engineers.
  • Troubleshoot design issues and propose innovative solutions to meet stringent automotive requirements.
  • Stay abreast of new materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes relevant to the automotive industry.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in automotive mechanical design.
  • Expert proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Solid Works) and CAE tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus).
  • In-depth understanding of automotive systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote setting.
