About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly proficient Control Systems Engineer to join their globally distributed team, supporting operations from Rustenburg . This is a fully remote position, offering the opportunity to design, implement, and maintain sophisticated control systems for a variety of industrial applications within the energy sector . You will be at the forefront of developing automated solutions that enhance efficiency, safety, and performance across our client's diverse operational landscape.
The role requires a strong technical background, self-discipline to thrive in a remote environment, and a commitment to delivering robust, scalable, and innovative control system designs.
- Design, develop, and program programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS).
- Develop and implement sophisticated control algorithms for optimization and automation.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with control systems remotely, providing timely resolutions.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and field technicians across different time zones to integrate and commission control systems.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation, including P&IDs, logic diagrams, and user manuals.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in control system technology and automation.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in designing and implementing industrial control systems .
- Proficiency in programming languages for PLCs (e.g., ladder logic, structured text) and DCS platforms.
- Experience with SCADA systems, HMI development, and industrial networking protocols.
- Strong understanding of system integration, process control, and automation principles within the energy industry .
- Excellent remote communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work autonomously.
