As a Chartered/Near Chartered Engineer in our Bridges and Civils team (Belfast) within our Transportation business you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of transportation. We work on a diverse range of significant and challenging projects across the UK and Ireland including the A4 Enniskillen By-Pass Portadown - Londonderry Route Assessment the Sydenham Greenway as well as the Translink Civil Engineering Professional Services Contract.

The team also supports transportation and non-transportation civil engineering and structures projects throughout the UK and internationally such as the N28 Cork to Ringaskiddy and Rolls Royce Small Modular Reactor programme as well as delivering a range of local authority projects for Councils across the Northern Ireland and Scotland. Youll take pride in creating high-quality civil and structural designs for new builds renewals maintenance and assessments.

• Take pride in developing high-quality civil and structural designs for new constructions renewals maintenance and assessments.

• Collaborate with both national and international design teams using your expertise and leadership to create positive sustainable impacts on society and the environment.

• Manage the production of and review high-quality design documentation including sketches drawings 3D BIM deliverables analysis models calculations reports and specifications.

• Able to understand a clients problem and bring the different capabilities of AtkinsRéalis together to develop a solution.

• Independently carry out technical work and provide guidance to junior staff members.

• Lead teams in the design assessment and maintenance of structural projects and providing structures related input on multi-disciplinary projects.

• Use analytical skills to derive potential solutions to engineering problems and engineering judgement to appraise different options and recommend the most suitable option.

• Engage with and manage internal and external stakeholders.

• Keep abreast of state-of-the-art methods and developments in area of specialisation.

• A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.

• Achieved or working towards professional qualification (CEng/IEng) and membership of the ICE Engineers Ireland or IStruct

• Experience of working with key clients such as Department for Infrastructure Translink local authorities major contractors and developers.

• Good understanding of relevant design standards (e.g. Eurocodes DMRB MCHW and Network Rail/Translink standards).

• Practical knowledge and experience of bridge design maintenance and assessment.

• Experience of structural analysis software packages such as LUSAS MIDAS and Autodesk Structural Bridge Design.

• Proven knowledge in design maintenance and supervision of structures related projects together with a track record of innovation in design and management of highway structures.

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to converse with a wide range of clients stakeholders and colleagues across a number of engineering disciplines.
