Remote Mechanical Design Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Remote Mechanical Design Specialist to contribute to their innovative product development efforts. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to impactful projects. You will be responsible for translating concepts into detailed mechanical designs, optimizing components for performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness. This role requires a strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a virtual, collaborative environment, driving innovation from afar.

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD software , ensuring adherence to design specifications and project requirements.
• Conduct thorough FEA and simulation to analyze stress, strain, thermal performance, and other critical parameters.
• Collaborate effectively with remote engineering teams, product managers, and manufacturing partners to refine designs.
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical documentation.
• Participate in virtual design reviews, providing constructive feedback and proposing innovative solutions.
• Support prototype fabrication and testing phases, analyzing results and iterating on designs as needed.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5-7 years of progressive experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Expert proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, Inventor, CATIA).
• Strong experience with engineering simulation and analysis tools (FEA, CFD).
• Excellent understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and DFM/DFA principles.
• Proven ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote setting.
