Senior Thermal Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly specialized and experienced Senior Thermal Engineer to contribute to their innovative research and development efforts in Pretoria. This role is critical for designing and optimizing thermal management systems for advanced technological products. You will be responsible for conducting complex thermal analyses, developing novel cooling solutions, and collaborating with product development teams to ensure optimal thermal performance under demanding conditions.

The ideal candidate is passionate about heat transfer and thermodynamics and possesses a proven track record of solving challenging thermal problems in an R&D setting.

• Perform advanced thermal analysis and simulations using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools.
• Design, develop, and validate thermal management solutions for electronic and mechanical systems.
• Create detailed specifications, drawings, and test plans for thermal components and systems.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers, product managers, and manufacturing teams to integrate thermal solutions effectively.
• Conduct experimental testing and validation of thermal designs to ensure performance requirements are met.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in thermal management technologies and methodologies.

• Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Thermal Sciences or a related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in thermal engineering and analysis.
• Proficiency in CFD software such as ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, or COMSOL.
• Strong understanding of heat transfer principles, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
• Experience with thermal testing equipment and data acquisition systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
