Remote Senior Civil Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled and self-motivated Senior Civil Engineer to join their fully remote team, supporting projects across South Africa, with a focus on initiatives originating from Cape Town . In this critical role, you will be responsible for the design, planning, and supervision of civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations. You will leverage advanced design tools and your extensive expertise to solve complex engineering challenges.

• Lead the design and development of civil engineering projects, including infrastructure, transportation, and water/wastewater systems, ensuring adherence to structural integrity and environmental regulations.
• Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for civil engineering projects using industry-standard software.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and impact assessments to inform project planning and execution.
• Collaborate remotely with architects, project managers, and other engineers to ensure seamless integration of civil works into broader project scopes.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff within the remote team structure.
• Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, and construction plans, ensuring compliance with building codes and best practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline; a Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in civil engineering , with a significant focus on design and project management.
• Proficiency in civil engineering design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and relevant structural analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of geotechnical principles, hydrology, transportation engineering, and construction methods.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration and documentation.
