Mechanical Design Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Design Specialist to contribute to their engineering endeavors in Vereeniging . This role involves translating conceptual designs into detailed technical specifications and production-ready drawings for a variety of mechanical components and assemblies. You will work closely with project engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness. • Prepare detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings for mechanical components and assemblies.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers to refine designs based on performance analysis, material selection, and manufacturing constraints.
• Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and other design documentation.
• Assist in the testing and validation of prototypes, providing feedback for design improvements.
• Support the manufacturing team by providing technical clarifications and resolving design-related queries.

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design and drafting.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Solid Works, Inventor).
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
