About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Senior Controls Engineer to join their fully remote team. This role is integral to developing and implementing sophisticated control systems for a range of advanced applications. You will take ownership of control system design, programming, and deployment, working collaboratively with distributed engineering teams and clients to deliver innovative solutions. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in automation technologies, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a proven ability to lead technical initiatives in a remote setting, contributing to the company's global leadership in automated solutions and operational excellence, all while enjoying the flexibility of remote work.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, program, and debug complex PLC and DCS systems for industrial automation applications.
- Architect and implement advanced control strategies, including fuzzy logic, adaptive control, and predictive control algorithms.
- Lead the technical development of control system projects, from conceptualization through to commissioning and support.
- Collaborate effectively with software engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers in a remote team environment using virtual collaboration tools.
- Perform system integration, network configuration, and ensure the cybersecurity of control systems.
- Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for control systems remotely and, occasionally, on-site if required.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in industrial controls and automation engineering.
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with multiple PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Logix) and DCS systems.
- Expertise in motion control, robotics integration, and servo system tuning.
- Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profinet, EtherCAT, Modbus TCP/IP).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a proven ability to work independently and lead technical discussions in a virtual setting.
