About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Remote Process Safety Engineer specializing in the chemical industry to ensure the highest standards of safety across their operations. This fully remote position allows you to provide critical expertise in hazard identification, risk assessment, and the implementation of safety management systems from anywhere. You will play a key role in developing and enforcing safety protocols, driving a strong safety culture through virtual engagement, and contributing significantly to the well-being of employees and the sustainability of the company's processes, all within a flexible, work-from-home environment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP and LOPA studies, remotely.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant national and international safety regulations and standards.
- Provide technical guidance on process safety aspects during design and modification of chemical facilities.
- Develop and deliver virtual training modules on process safety topics to site personnel.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related safety field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in process safety engineering, particularly within the chemical sector.
- In-depth knowledge of PSM elements, risk assessment methodologies, and safety design principles.
- Experience with safety software and virtual collaboration tools.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA PSM, Seveso Directive).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills for a remote context.
