About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Water Resources Engineer to join their team in Pretoria, focusing on municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role is critical for the sustainable management and development of water resources, involving the design and implementation of systems that ensure clean water supply and effective wastewater treatment for communities. You will work on diverse projects, from pipeline design to treatment plant upgrades, contributing to public health and environmental protection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and manage projects related to water supply networks, sewerage systems, and stormwater management.
  • Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
  • Develop conceptual designs, detailed engineering plans, and specifications for treatment facilities.
  • Prepare technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and feasibility studies related to water resources.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant legislation, standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with municipal officials, environmental agencies, and other consultants to achieve project goals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in water resources engineering, particularly in municipal infrastructure.
  • Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software such as EPANET, SWMM, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of water treatment processes, pipeline design, and stormwater management principles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
