Senior Mechanical Design Engineer; Remote

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their globally distributed team, working fully remotely to support their operations. This senior-level position is integral to the conceptualization and detailed design of complex mechanical systems and products. You will lead design efforts, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate effectively with virtual teams across different time zones. • Lead the conceptualization and detailed mechanical design of complex products and systems, from initial ideation to final production specifications.
• Create and refine intricate 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) using advanced CAD software .
• Perform comprehensive design reviews , tolerance analyses , and DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
• Mentor and guide junior mechanical engineers, fostering technical growth and ensuring design quality.
• Collaborate effectively with remote cross-functional teams, including electrical engineering, software development, and manufacturing, using virtual collaboration tools.
• Ensure designs meet all performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability targets.

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Expert proficiency in industry-leading CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, Inventor, or similar).
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
• Proven experience leading design projects and mentoring engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to excel in a remote work setting.
