Senior Mechanical Engineer - Remote Operations Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in a fully remote capacity, supporting operations across various sites including their Mahikeng facilities. This role focuses on providing remote technical expertise, troubleshooting, and operational support for mechanical systems and equipment. You will leverage your extensive knowledge to diagnose issues, recommend solutions, and guide on-site teams through complex repairs and maintenance procedures, all while working from your home office.

• Provide expert remote technical support and troubleshooting for mechanical systems and industrial equipment.
• Analyze performance data, maintenance logs, and sensor readings to identify potential operational issues and risks.
• Develop detailed repair procedures and best practice guidelines for on-site maintenance teams.
• Conduct remote inspections and diagnostics using video conferencing and remote monitoring tools.
• Collaborate closely with plant operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve critical issues swiftly.
• Contribute to the development of preventative maintenance strategies and asset management plans.

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong background in industrial plant operations and maintenance.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues remotely.
• Excellent understanding of rotating equipment, static equipment, and associated systems.
• Proficiency with remote diagnostic tools and CMMS .
• Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
