Remote Senior Civil Engineer - Water & Sanitation Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer with specialized expertise in water and sanitation infrastructure to join their team in a fully remote capacity . You will lead the design, planning, and implementation of complex water supply, wastewater treatment, and reticulation projects across South Africa. This role requires a deep understanding of water resource management, hydraulics, and sustainable infrastructure solutions, offering immense flexibility and the opportunity to make a substantial impact on public health and environmental sustainability nationwide, working collaboratively with distributed teams.

• Lead the design and development of water supply systems, including treatment plants, reservoirs, and pumping stations.
• Manage the design of wastewater collection networks, treatment facilities, and effluent disposal systems.
• Perform detailed hydraulic modeling and analysis for water distribution and sewer networks.
• Ensure designs comply with national and international water quality standards and environmental regulations.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports, specifications, and tender documentation.
• Provide expert technical guidance to project teams and stakeholders remotely.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering , with a specialization in water and sanitation infrastructure.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Advanced proficiency in water and wastewater modeling software (e.g., EPANET, SWMM, Info Works).
• Extensive knowledge of water treatment processes , sanitation technologies, and pipeline design.
• Experience in project management, contract administration, and stakeholder engagement.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, suited for a remote environment.
