About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Lead Process Safety Engineer to join their globally distributed team, working remotely from anywhere. This senior role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of process safety across all Oil & Gas operations . You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing robust process safety management systems, conducting hazard identification and risk assessments, and driving a strong safety culture.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned professional to influence safety practices across a major energy company, contributing remotely to critical projects and initiatives.
- Develop and implement comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM) programs aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct and lead Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, LOPA, and What-If studies.
- Oversee incident investigations, root cause analyses, and the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
- Develop and deliver process safety training materials to relevant personnel.
- Audit facilities and operations to ensure compliance with PSM standards and company policies.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to integrate safety into project life cycles and daily operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in process safety engineering , preferably within the Oil & Gas industry .
- In-depth knowledge of PSM regulations (e.g., OSHA 29 CFR ) and industry standards (e.g., API, CCPS).
- Proven experience in facilitating and leading PHAs and incident investigations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex projects independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, suitable for a remote work environment .
