About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Project Chemical Engineer to manage and execute capital projects in Benoni . This role is integral to the successful delivery of new plant facilities, process upgrades, and expansion projects. You will be responsible for all phases of project management, from conceptualization and design through to construction, commissioning, and handover. This hybrid role combines essential on-site supervision and coordination with remote work capabilities for detailed planning, documentation, and stakeholder communication, offering a dynamic and varied career.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the planning, execution, and completion of chemical engineering projects within defined scope, budget, and schedule.
- Develop project plans, secure resources, and manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and suppliers to ensure project objectives are met.
- Oversee the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of process equipment and systems.
- Ensure projects comply with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare project reports, manage change orders, and facilitate project close-out activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering or project management, preferably in the chemical industry.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
- Experience with P&IDs, equipment specifications, and HAZOP studies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to effectively manage tasks in a hybrid work setting, balancing on-site and remote responsibilities.
