About the Role
Our client is seeking an exceptional Senior Mechanical Engineer with expertise in aerospace structures to join their remote team, serving clients and operations near Nelspruit . This position is crucial for the design, analysis, and validation of critical aircraft structural components. You will work on challenging projects, contributing to the safety and performance of advanced aerospace systems. This remote role requires a highly disciplined and collaborative engineer who can excel in a virtual environment, driving innovation and ensuring the highest standards of engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and analysis of complex aerospace structures, including fuselage, wings, and control surfaces.
- Perform advanced structural analysis, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) , fatigue, and fracture mechanics.
- Develop detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings adhering to stringent aerospace standards (e.g., AMS).
- Collaborate with manufacturing, materials science, and testing teams in a fully remote setting.
- Ensure designs meet all relevant aerospace regulations and airworthiness requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in aerospace structural design and analysis.
- Expert proficiency in FEA software (e.g., NASTRAN, ANSYS) and CAD systems (e.g., CATIA V5, Solid Works).
- Deep understanding of composite materials, metallic structures, and aerospace manufacturing processes.
- Proven ability to manage complex technical challenges and communicate effectively in a remote team.
