Civil Engineer - Transportation and Road Design

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer with a passion for transportation and road design to join their team in Bloemfontein. You will be responsible for the design, planning, and oversight of road infrastructure projects, contributing to safer and more efficient transportation networks. This role involves working on diverse projects, from local roads to major highways, and requires a strong understanding of traffic engineering principles and construction methodologies, playing a key part in the development of the Free State's transport infrastructure.

• Design and plan road alignments, intersections, and interchanges using advanced CAD software.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and contract documents for road construction projects.
• Conduct traffic studies, capacity analyses, and safety assessments for proposed road networks.
• Oversee construction supervision and ensure projects are completed according to design and quality standards.
• Liaise with clients, government authorities, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure designs comply with the latest road design codes and environmental regulations.

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in road and transportation engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Candidate Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is preferred.
• Proficiency in transportation design software (e.g., Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Pavement design software).
• Knowledge of traffic engineering principles and road safety standards.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
