About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Chemical Process Safety Engineer to join their fully remote global team. This critical role will ensure the highest standards of safety across all our chemical manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust process safety management systems, conducting risk assessments, and providing expert guidance remotely. Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM) programs in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Conduct and lead Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, What-If, and LOPA studies, for new and existing processes.
- Perform risk assessments, identify potential hazards, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies to prevent incidents.
- Develop and deliver process safety training to engineers, operators, and other personnel.
- Investigate process safety incidents and near misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Stay current with evolving process safety regulations and technologies, providing expert advice to global operations teams.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of dedicated experience in chemical process safety engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of PSM elements (e.g., MOC, PSSR, PHA, Incident Investigation).
- Proven experience in leading and facilitating HAZOP studies and other risk assessment methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, CCPS).
