Structural Engineer - Building Design

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join their dynamic design team in Centurion . This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging building projects, from concept to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity and safety of buildings, collaborating closely with architects, project managers, and construction teams. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, innovative problem-solving, and effective communication, within an office and remote working setup.

• Design and analyze structural systems for new buildings and renovations, including foundations, beams, columns, and slabs.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations using advanced engineering software.
• Collaborate with architects and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and efficient designs.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and address any structural issues that arise.
• Review and approve shop drawings and submittals from contractors.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering , with a focus on building design.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP
  2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro).
• Strong understanding of building codes and standards (e.g., SANS, Eurocodes).
• Experience with various building materials, including concrete, steel, and masonry.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for hybrid work environments.
