About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Remote Chemical Process Safety Engineer to ensure the highest standards of safety across their operations. This critical role involves developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive process safety management (PSM) programs, working entirely from a remote location. You will conduct risk assessments, analyze safety data, and provide expert guidance on regulatory compliance and best practices to various project teams and operational sites.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated safety professional to make a significant impact on hazard prevention and risk mitigation within the chemical industry, collaborating from Paarl .
- Develop and implement robust Process Safety Management (PSM) systems and procedures.
- Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
- Investigate process safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international process safety regulations.
- Develop and deliver process safety training programs to site personnel and engineers.
- Maintain process safety information (PSI) and management of change (MOC) processes.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related safety field.
- 5+ years of experience specifically in chemical process safety engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of PSM elements and industry best practices (e.g., CCPS guidelines).
- Experience conducting various types of risk assessments and hazard studies.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex safety data.
- Excellent communication and remote collaboration capabilities.
