About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative Transportation Engineer to drive forward critical mobility projects in the Gauteng province. This role focuses on the planning, design, and implementation of efficient and sustainable transportation systems, including roads, public transport networks, and traffic management solutions. You will collaborate with urban planners, government bodies, and development partners to shape the future of mobility in one of South Africa's busiest economic hubs.

- Develop transportation models and conduct traffic impact assessments for new developments.
- Design road networks, intersections, and public transport facilities to optimize traffic flow and safety.
- Prepare traffic management plans and strategies for major events and construction phases.
- Collaborate with city planners and government agencies on long-term transportation strategies.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in transportation engineering, such as smart city solutions.
- Ensure designs comply with national and provincial transportation standards and regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, with a specialization in Transportation Engineering.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in transportation planning and design.
- Proficiency in transportation planning software such as PTV Vissim, TransCAD, or similar.
- Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles, geometric design, and network analysis.
- Experience working with municipal or provincial authorities in Gauteng .
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
